Industry leaders gathered as Monsson Energy hosted its first seminar in Sweden. The event highlighted Monsson’s BESS solution, which is tailored specifically for the Nordic climate.
Stockholm, 12 June 2025—Monsson Energy AB hosted its first seminar in Sweden at the Stockholm Waterfront Auditorium. The event united industry professionals, investors, and stakeholders for a deep dive into Monsson’s cutting‑edge battery energy storage system (BESS) and its broader role in accelerating Sweden’s renewable-energy transition and making it more effective.
Sweden crossed the 1GW BESS capacity line in the first quarter of 2025, a significant increase from just a few megawatts in 2018. This figure is estimated to more than double by 2030. Yet capacity alone is insufficient, especially in Sweden, where blizzards, harsh winds, and extreme cold regularly compromise conventional container units—battery systems housed in converted shipping containers.
Monsson addresses this directly with a purpose-built, Nordic-ready battery storage solution. It features an IP‑65‑sealed, walk-in modular enclosure – warehouse type, closed‑loop heat-pump HVAC system, and an oxygen-reduction fire-prevention system, delivering exceptional reliability and year-round operational performance, even under the harshest winter conditions.
In addition, the system offers fully automated, real-time operational control, enabling dynamic response to shifting market conditions without on-site intervention. Through SCADA integration and advanced forecasting capabilities, the system allows operators to make predictive adjustments based on market data, optimising dispatch strategies and maximising revenue during peak periods.
These features, among others, make Monsson’s unique solution the first truly “grid-ready” battery tailored to Sweden’s demanding, harsh climate, offering improved battery longevity, market flexibility, operational simplicity, future-proof upgrades, and enhanced safety.
However, lasting success also hinges on human expertise. To address this, Monsson combines its technical leadership with targeted educational initiatives to strengthen workforce competence.
Through its Training Academy in south-east Europe, Monsson is already training over 8,000 professionals annually with hands-on skills in renewable energy and battery storage systems. Now, building upon that legacy, Monsson is launching a series of seminars and technical workshops across Sweden in the coming months.
“Education is central to everything we do,” said Sebastian Enache, Head of Mergers and Acquisitions at Monsson. “Understanding must precede implementation.”
